With Every Door Direct Mail you pick USPS carrier routes, and we mail to every address on them. That means the count is set by the routes, not an exact number. Enter your best estimate of homes and your budget, and your rep will map the routes and confirm the final count and price.

Nonprofit postage is usually the biggest single saving on a mailing. Nonprofit? The same 5,000-piece 6 x 9 mailing is about $2,460 with nonprofit postage, instead of $3,510.

Questions we hear about postcard mailings

How much does it cost to print and mail postcards?
It depends mostly on quantity, postage class and whether you need a mailing list. As an example, a 5,000 piece 6 x 9 postcard mailing to your own list comes to about $3,510 all in, or roughly $0.70 per postcard, including postage at the Marketing Mail rate. Use the calculator to price your exact job, with printing and postage broken out.
Is postage included in the price?
Yes, the estimated total includes postage, and it is shown as its own line so you can see it. Postage is usually the largest single cost on a postcard mailing, which is why we never hide it inside a printing price.
Do you offer nonprofit postage rates?
Yes. If your organization has a USPS nonprofit authorization, your postcards mail at the nonprofit Marketing Mail rate, which saves about 45 percent on postage. All three of our postcard sizes mail as Marketing Mail letters, so all three qualify. See our nonprofit direct mail services.
Which postcards can I send with Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM)?
For EDDM, we print on our 6 x 11 postcard. USPS requires EDDM pieces to be larger than a standard letter. The 6 x 11 meets that rule and the 4 x 5.5 and 6 x 9 do not, so the calculator only offers EDDM on the 6 x 11. You choose USPS carrier routes and the postcards go to every address on them, so the final count is set by the routes rather than an exact number, and EDDM postage includes delivery to every address with no list to buy. Need a different EDDM size, like 6.25 x 9, 8.5 x 11 or 9 x 12? Ask a rep. Otherwise pick “Every home on a route” in the calculator for an estimate, or learn more about EDDM mailing.
Do I need my own mailing list?
No. You can send us your customer, member or donor list, or we can build a targeted list for you. Purchased lists are estimated at $30 to $150 per thousand records depending on how narrow the targeting is, and your rep confirms the exact price once the targeting is set. See our mailing services.
Which postcard size should I choose?
A 4 x 5.5 is the most economical for reminders and short messages. A 6 x 9 is the workhorse, with room for an offer and a strong image. A 6 x 11 gets the most attention in the mailbox, is the largest size that still mails at the letter rate, and is the size we use for EDDM. All three are priced in the calculator above.

Is the online price a quote?
It is an estimate based on the specs you enter. A Salt Lake Mailing rep reviews your list, artwork and mail date and confirms final pricing before anything runs. Under 10,000 pieces you see a firm online price. From 10,000 to 24,999 pieces the calculator shows a price range and a rep confirms your exact price. For 25,000 pieces and up, a rep prices the job directly, so send us your specs.
